Project Title: 10-Days Walk for Mother Nature and Father Labor

Environmental Groups meet Labor Groups

When: April 22, 2015 (Earh Day) to May 1, 2015 (Labor Day)

Where: Sta. Cruz, Zambales to Mendiola, Manila

Rationale:

The 10-Days Walk for Mother Nature and Father Labor is a campaign aiming to unite different environmental groups and labor groups in the issue of environmental protection, anti-mining, climate justice, labor rights, and system change. This also aims to raise awareness on ecology and society and what should be done to change the system, and make this world a better place to live in, today and for the future.

This will start on Earth Day from Sta. Cruz, Zambales, the place where strong successful anti-mining advocates exist. Different environmental groups will be invited to be part of this historic campaign. They will be joined by different labor groups in the walk that will end in the historic Mendiola on Labor Day.

Highlight: There will be signing of a covenant dubbed as "Covenant for Mother Nature and Father Labor" in Mendiola. In the different cities and towns that will become part of the Walk, there should be programs with different workers unions and federations, and environmental groups.
